The event beginning this October 17 at the Hotel Nacional brings together jurists, businesspersons, and academicians from Cuba and abroad.

According to the program, debates start Tuesday with a presentation about the most recent forms of property and their relation with foreign trade by Pavel Vidal Alejandro of the Center for Cuban Economic Studies (CEEC, acronyms in Spanish).

Among the most awaited presentations by foreign participants is a master lecture on maritime law to be given by Jose Miguel Alcantara, from Spain.

Likewise, the program of the event includes a special presentation about the connections between foreign trade and foreign investment by Ileana Nuñez Mordoche, director of International Economic Organisms of the ministry for the field in Cuba.

Owing to the importance for Cuba to increase exports, effectively replace imports with local productions and high-tech projects, the event will feature a round table about Special Areas for Development of Cuba.

Debates will also center on consignment contracts, international commercial guarantees and e-commerce supervision.

The Eighth International Meeting of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment will take place until October 19. It is held under the auspices of the Cuban National Association of Jurists, the MINCEX, the CEEC, and the World Economy Research Center, among others.
